Wearing head set for most of the day?

I am always wearing head set. Almost all the time a day except sleeping and a few hours.

When I travel, when I walk, when I am at home and even when I am at toilet

Will this do any harm to my ears? If so, how soon will it harm?
Why I asked this question is, I feel like the VLC media player sound is reduced.

it entirely depends on how loud you have it, the standard level of conversation is about 75db to 80bd, nightclub level is about 110db but some headphones can deliver the equivalent of 115db which can do permanent damage to your ears in about 2seconds.

If you keep your headset to a comfortable volume, which would be around the same as normal conversation you can wear it 24/7 and not have a problem, but watch it, if you hear a ringing in your ears or they physically feel tired, take it off and have a break. (your ears can actually get tired and it's no fun)
