Car sales up in some areas, down in others
New car sales for Caddo and Bossier parishes are down 3 percent for the first five months of the year compared to last year, according to data from the LSU Shreveport Center for Business and Economic Research. While the numbers are still in the red, the drop in sales this year was not nearly as dramatic as it was in 2009, when dealers sold over 2,000 less cars than they did in 2008.
