The Jaguar In Review
Shoppers who buy a Jaguar XF Supercharged are often happy with purchase. For over a decade, the XF has been one of the leaders of the Jaguar brand. This has always been a meaningful car, and the 2009 model is no different. A sedan for everyone in the family is what the Jaguar XF delivers.
Performance
The restyled XF Supercharged is equipped with a 4.2-liter 8-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is paired with a ZF six-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2008 version.
The XF uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.
The 2009 XF's normal fuel system runs on gas. The fuel is regulated electronically, with a fuel-injected multi-port fuel injection style of design. The fuel capacity of the car is 18.40 gallons.
Vehicle Statistics
The XF is 195.30 inches long, 73.90 inches wide, and 57.50 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 114.50 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.
A powertrain warranty is provided (50,000 miles/48 months), and a 50,000 mile, 48 month guarantee also comes with the Jaguar XF.
The listed retail price in 2009 (MSRP) was $62,200, with an invoice cost of $56,602. This price is on target the industry average price for a four-door Sedan. The price and brand also make car insurance expensive for this car.
MPG Ratings
The XF Supercharged received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty three when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was subpar.
The vehicle is available in Azure Blue, Botanical Green, Ebony, Emerald Fire, Frost Blue, Indigo Blue, Liquid Silver, Lunar Grey, Midnight, Pearl Grey, Porcelain, Radiance, Vapour Grey, and Winter Gold.
Parting Shots
The 2008 model began the promise of the Jaguar XF. The 2009 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Jaguar hopes that the XF Supercharged will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
